3 delicious dine-in-for-two menus to snap up ahead of tomorrow

We've spent Easter, Christmas and many, many birthdays under more or less lockdown and hefty pandemic restrictions.

And now the time has come for Valentine's Day. I think regardless of how you feel about Valentine's Day, this one will be of the low key variety. Current lockdown rules have ensured that no restaurants are open for dining in – but lucky for us, many of them are offering some pretty delicious-sounding dinner at-home experiences. Here are three of our favourites:

Avoca To celebrate Valentine’s weekend at home, AVOCA has launched a mouth-watering three-course Dine-In menu for two. Complete with a choice of three starters, three main courses (including a vegetarian option), two side dishes and two desserts, you can create your own three course meal. From their kitchen to yours, each delicious dish in this carefully curated menu has been made with love and care in AVOCA’s kitchens and bakeries. Choose from a nourishing Borscht & Confit Duck Consommé, fresh Fishcakes with Tartare Sauce or a full-flavoured Slow Roasted Tomato & Basil Soup to start. Followed by a choice of Organic Dry-aged Fillet Steaks (€3.00 supplement), a baked Haddock & Bombay Potatoes dish or vegetarians can opt for the Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni as their main course. Each main course comes with a choice of smooth and creamy Rosemary and Garlic Mash or a fresh mix of Seasonal Green Vegetables on the side. The dessert won’t disappoint with a choice between a rich & decadent Chocolate Mousse or a creamy and zesty Raspberry Posset. In other words, the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s night at home. The Valentine’s Dine-In menu is available in AVOCA Food Market’s now, customers can also contact their local AVOCA store to order the Dine-In menu for collection and delivery. Delivery is available within a 20km radius of select AVOCA stores including Kilmacanoge, Ballsbridge, Monkstown and Malahide. And this Valentine's Day, the supermarket has upped its game and is offering you a bottle of rosé prosecco instead of wine, and is offering an entirely vegan menu too. Starters include everything from a new salmon sharing platter to vegan mushroom pate, while for mains there is a lot to choose from, be it duck breast or beef bourguignon. Ananda If you are living within a 5km radius of Dundrum Town Centre, amazing Indian eatery Ananda have launched a Valentine’s Day tasting menu for two for €70. The feast includes a selection of their flavour-filled dishes including sharing kebabs, Goan seafood curry, classic butter chicken and Urulai roast potatoes, served with caramelised milk dumplings filled with white chocolate crémeux and pistachio praline. Ananda’s tasting menu is available for collection between 3:30 – 9:00PM up until Sunday, 14^th February.
