According to researchers at Harvard Medical School, that buzz you get from your first gulps of wine after your working day is actually a boost to your heart rate – firing up your metabolism.
The team behind the study found that the effects of those timely gulps can last for up to an hour after you take your last swig, and even longer if you’re downing a microbrew.
If you’re more of a beer drinker – the flavonoids in a brew with hops are seen to show an increase in muscle mass, which will generate the body’s fat burners.
So technically, if you’re really not feeling up to the gym, you may as well open that bottle of red.
It’s clearly the only next logical step.
