It’s a nightmare situation.
And one we hope we will never find ourselves in, but would you know what to do if you saw a child or baby choking?
I wouldn’t.
Which is why I was delighted to see this brilliant video on infant first aid doing the rounds on the internet today.
The video was first posted by St.John’s Ambulance, an organisation dedicated to teaching people first aid, last year but is still being shared today because of its very important message.
According to St.John’s Ambulance 40% of parents have witnessed their own baby choke, while over 80% of these parents had no idea what to do in such a situation. It’s an absolutely terrifying thought and a situation no one wants to ever be in.
In order to show how easy the correct first aid procedure is, they came up with this brilliant animated video.The video shows a marble, a pen lid, a jelly baby and a princess work together to show viewers the proper technique for clearing a blockage.
So, if you have kids, nieces or nephews, babysit from time to time or are around kids in your day to day life (so realistically everyone) then listen up because this information could actually save a life.
