Week 3 and the girls are still in fighting form...

As part of the Life Style Sports #GirlsRunTheWorld campaign, Michelle McMahon, Editor of Her.ie and Sue Murphy, TV&Film Editor, were challenged to run a 5k race after 12 weeks of training.

For Week 3 of the campaign, Michelle and Sue went along to the Iveagh Gardens with their trainer Peter Kern from PB3 Coaching for another week of training.

This week, Sue was off the running as she has strained her knees. The strain is an old injury which has flared up again due to the training, so Sue is back in the pool and back to swimming to increase her fitness level. She has a visit to a physiotherapist on Tuesday to check out how the knees are and will report back next week.

Michelle on the other hand is doing brilliantly having already completed her first 5k. She will run in her first official race this weekend and has been keeping up with the training program. Peter has explained that it is only a very small push forward to the 10k from here.

Sue and Michelle will each be detailing their experiences in this week’s blog.

Check out how they got on in this week’s video.
