Looks like cup-size really does matter.
When it comes to ordering coffee, that is.
The people behind Barista Life have their priorities straight and compiled a handy guide to ordering a Starbucks.
The simple tip to majorly speeding up the time it takes to receive your drink is all about the order in which you order, if that makes sense.
The best way to order is to first specify the size, then whether it’s hot or cold, then milk and THEN finally the drink name.
The reasoning?
If you mention size first, the barista can immediately grab the cup and write your order as you go.
If you don’t specify that you want it iced straight away, your barista will already have written your order on a hot cup.
When it comes to extras like milk, a barista named Charlotte explains:
“If someone orders a ‘venti white mocha with a triple shot, nonfat milk and no whip’ you can’t really start on the drink until they’re almost done ordering because you don’t know what kind of milk to use. If they order a ‘venti triple nonfat no whip white mocha’ you can anticipate exactly what they’re wanting and get it started faster.”
So, there you go – you can leave the house 2.5 minutes later tomorrow morning.
