From our new favourite comedy duo to a chilling documentary, you’ll be spoilt for choice at the cinema this week. 

The Heat (15A)

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy star in this comedy about a straight-laced FBI agent who is paired up with a foul-mouthed cop.

The Conjuring (15A)

Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson) try to help a family whose farmhouse is being terrorized by a dark force.


Red 2 (12A)

Retired C.I.A. agent Frank Moses gets his team back together to track down a missing nuclear device. Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren are among the cast.


Only God Forgives (18)

Ryan Gosling plays a drug-smuggler whose mother asks him to find and kill the person responsible for his brother’s death.

The Smurfs 2 (G)

In this animated sequel the Smurfs turn to their human friends for help when Smurfette is kidnapped by Gargamel.


Grown Ups 2 (12A)

Lenny (Adam Sandler) and co are back in their hometown but it’s not as relaxing as the friends first thought it would be.

Blackfish (Not suitable for persons under the age of 18)

This documentary looks at the killer whale responsible for the deaths of three individuals as well as the effects of them being held in captivity.


The Wolverine (12A)

Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) has to face up to his own demons when he is summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance.


The World’s End (15A)

Five childhood friends reunite to replicate the epic pub crawl they completed 20 years earlier. Starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.


Life’s A Breeze (12A)

Fionnula Flanagan stars in this comedy drama about a family who go in search of a lost fortune around the streets of Dublin.

The Frozen Ground (16)

Nicholas Cage and Vanessa Hudgens star in this thriller based on the true story of serial killer Robert Hansen.


Pacific Rim (12A)

Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba star in this action flick about a war between manmade robots and gigantic sea creatures.


Monsters University (G)

The Monsters are back but this time they’re at university and not exactly the best of friends. With Billy Crystal and John Goodman.


Now You See Me (12A)

A group of illusionists called ‘The Four Horsemen’ pull off a series of heists. Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher are among the cast.


The Internship (12A)

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughan star in this comedy about two unemployed salesmen who land an internship at Google.


Despicable Me 2 (G)

The Anti-Villain League ask Gru to undertake a secret mission leaving him caught between his professional and personal life.
