We were shocked - and slightly heartbroken - when Suits' Jessica Pearson left Pearson Spectre Litt in the sixth series' mid-season finale. She traded in the Big Apple for Chicago, but has made the occasional appearance back at the formerly-named Pearson Spectre Litt. Still, though. We always held out hope she would make a permanent return one day - which is why we were delighted to hear that she would be fronting the Suits spin-off. It was announced earlier this year that Gina Torres would be starring in a Jessica Pearson-centered spin-off, due to air some point next year. The backdoor pilot aired alongside the seventh season finale, which saw Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle exit the legal drama. Beyond giving us the Jessica/Harvey courtroom team we never knew we needed, we also got a glimpse at what she's been up to since she left the firm, as she "adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics". Both Suits and Second City will co-exist, as the flagship series was given the green light for an eighth season. Gabriel Macht (Harvey), Rick Hoffman (Louis) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna) will be joined by Dulé Hill, who is being promoted to series regular, as well s Katherine Heigl.
