Ben Mitchell is set to fall for new resident Paul Coker, in a new storyline to hit Albert Square.
After working abroad as a club rep for two years, viewers will see Paul head to Albert Square to join his grandparents Les and Pam Coker.
But it seems Paul’s confidence and enthusiasm will soon start attracting attention from Ben, who is drawn into a relationship with the young man this June.
It’s believed Ben will aim to keep the romance quiet though, causing Paul to doubt his feelings and commitment to their relationship.
Eastenders bosses have teased a relationship between the pair in their upcoming summer trailer for the soap, but have yet to reveal whether the couple’s romance will be exposed.
Speaking about newcomer Paul, played by Jonny Labey, EastEnders’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said:
“Jonny’s a sensitive, clever and intuitive actor and has fitted in to his new Walford family with ease. We’re all looking forward to seeing the trouble that Paul will cause for his grandparents as he uncovers some secrets from the past and sets one heart in particular racing.”
