The secret way Love Island contestants communicate with each other in the villa

Right, so Love Island contestants are filmed 24/7.

Everybody knows this, it's not a shock. It's hardly surprising either then that the islanders are doing their utmost to find a way to communicate with each other that won't be recorded and shown on TV. But how, we hear you cry, are contestants supposed to do that when they're mic-ed up all day long? How could they possibly manage it when even their slightest grunt when they're Doing Bits is recorded? Thanks to their nifty little phones, of course. As we're all well aware, the phones the islanders carry around don't really do much other than allow the contestants to take pictures, communicate with producers, and also send each other instant messages. Which is exactly how they've been chatting secretly away from the cameras. According to island reject Adam Collard, who returned to the villa briefly this week in the form of a snake, all the islanders would be under their duvets chatting away on instant messenger so their chat wouldn't be aired to the public. Producers still have all the messages saved though... obviously. He said:

"We used to write messages to each other when we were in bed so other people couldn’t hear what we were saying. "We deleted our messages but the producers told me that they still have them all."

Better not have said anything too dodgy, man.
