She played Roxy Mitchell until 2017.
EastEnders actress Rita Simons is set to return to the soap despite being killed off in 2017.
Her character, Roxy Mitchell, died in a drowning accident on her sister Ronnie Mitchell’s wedding day.
The actress confirmed she is returning to the soap – but not as a ghost.
Roxy will appear as a figment of her daughter Amy’s imagination.
The BBC confirmed Simons will appear in Thursday night’s episode of EastEnders.
“With the breakdown of Denise and Jack’s marriage tearing the Branning family apart and exacerbating Amy’s mental health struggles in recent weeks, the family attend a group therapy session where Amy is encouraged to open up about her emotions surrounding the loss of her mum.

“Amy zones out and Roxy appears as a figment of her imagination”.
She may have left the show in 2017, but Rita Simons remained a fan favourite.
However, many hoped she would return for longer than one episode, but Simons will only feature in a few scenes.
EastEnders airs on RTÉ tonight at 7.30 pm.
