Netflix never fails when it comes to a cheesy rom-com
Rom-coms will forever be the superior movie genre, but nobody makes a cheesy rom-com quite like Netflix.
The thing I love most about rom-coms is just how easy they are to watch. They're simple, often predictable, but always enjoyable. Gone are the years of trying to impress people with my taste in film and pretending to only watch indie films.
They've been happily replaced with re-runs of classic rom-coms as well as modern-day Netflix originals.
Netflix never fails to create a perfect cheesy rom-com and their latest offering is living up to that reputation.
Everyone is talking about the new Netflix original Find Me Falling and we're not surprised.
The film follows a rockstar, played by Harry Connick Jr, who is experiencing a lull in his career.
He decides to retreat to a cliffside home in Cyprus to try to start over, but an old flame leaves him thinking about the mistakes of his past.
The official synopsis reads: "After a failed comeback album, a rock star retreats to a cliffside home in Cyprus, only to find his new life complicated by visitors and an old flame."
Speaking about his role in the Netflix original, Harry Connick Jr told Tudum: "He’s this grumpy kind of misanthropic guy who’s depressed and impatient and he decides to just separate himself from society.
"He’s had enough of his kind of dwindling career and rock and roll and decides to move to this remote island and get a remote house on a remote cliff on that island. Of course, he can’t stay remote for long," he explains.
This movie is perfect if you need something easy to pop on after a long week at work. It isn't Oscar-worthy but does every movie need to be?
