When is the fourth season of Outer Banks airing?

Friends have been telling me to watch the mystery thriller for years, but I finally started watching the show during winter.

I had to stop watching 'Gilmore Girls' over and over again, so opted for 'Outer Banks'. It's a far cry from Stars Hollow, but it's one of my favourite Netflix series.

I flew through all three seasons and I'm now extremely disappointed that I've run out of episodes to watch.

I said I'd pace myself and only watch one episode per week but the series was made to be binge-watched. It's addictive, exciting and so tense, and has an incredible group of actors leading the show.

Season four has not yet been released, but the cast was recently spotted filming the fourth installment.

The fourth season was expected to land on Netflix in the summer, but the release date has been delayed due to the strikes.

The WGA and SAG strikes may be over, but the knock-on effect they've both had continues to affect projects, including 'Outer Banks'.

When is season four of Outer Banks being released?

According to screenrant.com, the cast had filmed a month's worth of the series before they had to stop filming.

However, experts believe the fourth season could air before the end of the year.

If you've not yet watched 'Outer Banks' then you need to get stuck into the series.

It follows a group of working-class teenagers as they search for John B's missing father.

The synopsis reads:

"On an island of haves and have-nots, teen John B enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance."

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, and Madison Bailey.

It also stars Drew Starkey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant.

All three seasons are available on Netflix.
