Fox announced on Tuesday that the comedy, starring Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson, has been commissioned for another series and will be back later this year.
The network’s entertainment president David Madden reportedly said in a statement that it has gone from strength to strength since it started.
“Four seasons in, New Girl continues to be one the smartest and most relatable comedies on television,” he explained.
“The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious… We absolutely love this show and we’re so excited to bring it back for Season Five.”
