Some potential good news for Hunger Games fans.
The Hunger Games saga came to an end in November with the final installment of the popular movie franchise, Mockingjay – Part 2.
Earlier this month fans got a glimmer of hope that they might get to see more of Katniss Everdeen in the future as Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns reportedly said that it would, “live on and on and on.” Presumably, he was referring to the DVDs and merchandise on sale but people are jumping to all sorts of conclusions about more movies.
There was even a suggestion of a prequel and now Natalie Dormer has shown interest in it. She told Entertainment Weekly that she would be up for reprising her role of Cressida but on one condition, that it’s written by Suzanne Collins, the author of the original books.
“I’m just a huge fan of Suzanne Collins and her writing, and I think Nina Jacobson (producer of the movie) and Francis Lawrence (director) have both talked about this, but anything prequel, sequel, whatever would have to come from her and her penmanship”, she said.
“So the minute I know that Suzanne is writing something, then yes, my ears would prick up. Almost definitely.”
They also noted that Jennifer Lawrence recently quashed any hopes of a return of Katniss saying, “I think it’s too soon. They’ve got to let the body get cold, in my opinion.”
