Her final scenes will be aired tomorrow night but Emmerdale star Verity Rushworth says there’s still “a massive twist” in store for her character Donna Windsor.
The actress, whose character found out recently that she only had a matter of weeks to live, told Digital Spy that fans may be surprised by the nature of her departure.
“Without giving away anything too specific, you can expect a massive shock, a stunt, lots of drama, lots of heartache, lots of tragedy, a completely unexpected end for Donna that I don’t think people will realise… It’s a completely shocking exit”.
Donna’s final episodes, which air at 7.00pm and 8.00pm on Thursday, revolve around her plans with her secret lover Ross Barton, played by Michael Parr.
As for what’s next, Verity revealed: “I don’t what’s next really. I’m going to start auditioning now. I’ve had a little break which is really nice… If it was a really great theatre role, I’d choose it and if it was a really great television role, I’d choose it. I just really like working!”
Verity’s last scenes will air tomorrow night.
