Fans of It Ends With Us are set to be disappointed
It looks like the It Ends With Us sequel is up in the air as Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s feud continues.
The co-stars likely won’t work on the sequel together which has left many fans wondering if it will ever happen.
Blake Lively may have starred as Lily Bloom in the movie, but Baldoni owns the rights to the sequel.
According to Variety, the pair will likely never work together again.
An insider told the publication, “This is uncharted territory, and nobody has any idea of what a sequel could look like.
“There’s probably no world where these two will work together again,” they said.
Baldoni has more or less confirmed he won’t be directing It Starts With Us.
He told Entertainment Tonight, “I think there are better people for that one. I think Blake is ready to direct, that’s what I think.”
Colleen Hoover also spoke out about the potential sequel and said the ending leaves you wanting more.
The author told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m gonna be honest that ending scene just leaves you kind of wanting more Lily and Atlas for sure.”
It Starts With Us sold 800,000 copies by the end of its release day. It debuted as number one on The New York Times fiction best-seller list in October 2022.
Adapting the novel for the big screen makes perfect sense especially after the success of It Ends With Us, but who knows if it will ever happen.
