The film has exceeded expectations grossing $50 million in its opening weekend alone.
The movie has been met with some mixed reviews, especially as the controversial press tour continues, but that hasn't stopped fans from wondering if there will be a sequel.
As avid Colleen Hoover readers know, there is a sequel to It Ends With Us but will it be adapted for the big screen?
It Starts With Us sold 800,000 copies by the end of its release day. It debuted as number one on The New York Times fiction best-seller list in October 2022.
Adapting the novel for the big screen makes perfect sense especially after the success of It Ends With Us.
Justin Baldoni has already ruled out directing the second film but believes Blake Lively would be a great choice.
He told Entertainment Tonight, "I think there are better people for that one. I think Blake is ready to direct, that’s what I think."
Colleen Hoover also spoke out about the potential sequel and said the ending leaves you wanting more.
The author told Entertainment Tonight:
"I’m gonna be honest that ending scene just leaves you kind of wanting more Lily and Atlas for sure."
'Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil co-parenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.
'But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life.
'And Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.'
