The stars were out last night for the 11th annual Irish Film and Television Awards and it did not disappoint with the likes of Jamie Dornan (swoon!) and Moone Boy (love it!) crowned winners.
In the film categories, Calvary was a big winner, earning the title of Best Film as well as Best Script for John Michael MacDonagh and Best Actor for leading man Brendan Gleeson.
Saoirse Ronan took home the female equivalent for her performance in Byzantium while Michael Fassbender (12 Years A Slave) collected the award for Best Supporting Actor and Sinead Cusack (The Sea) was named Best Supporting Actress.
As for the international awards, Philomena was named Best Film while its leading lady Judi Dench won Best International Actress. Chiwetel Ejiofor claimed another win for 12 Years A Slave with the award for Best International Actor.
While Byzantium missed out on Best Film, Neill Jordan was named Best Director. Another victorious production was The Summit which took the George Morrison Feature Documentary award.
In the television categories, The Fall had a great night with the award for Best Drama. Jamie Dornan also took home the title of Best Actor as well as the Rising Star award.
Amber‘s Eva Birthistle claimed Best Actress while Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) was named Best Supporting Actress and Peter Coonan was crowned Best Supporting Actor for playing Fran in Love/Hate.
The gritty crime drama added another title to its name when creator Stuart Carolan was announced as the victor in the Best Script category.
Chris O’Dowd’s Moone Boy faired well too with the awards for Best Entertainment Programme and Best Director for Ian Fitzgibbon.
Another popular winner on the night was Operation Transformation which claimed the award for Best Reality Programme.
