Irish actress Ruth Codd will participate in the first edition of Celebrity Traitors, released this autumn.
BBC’s annual plan shared that, along with the hit show The Traitors returning to the screen, a celebrity version of the show is set to be released this autumn.
According to the BBC, 'Traitors' contestants arrive at the castle as ‘Faithfuls’, where they will soon find out if they are a ‘Faithful’ or a ‘Traitor’.
The 'Faithfuls' aim is to banish all the ‘Traitors’ by the end to win the cash prize; the ‘Traitors’ are to stay in the game, and remain undetected to win.
As the series goes on, group tables and voting contestants will be a way of getting rid of ‘Traitors’ or ‘Faithfuls’, but contestants must reveal who they are before leaving.
‘Traitors’ can also secretly meet to murder a ‘Faithful’ to eliminate more contestants.
The show can have alliances, betrayals, and contestants changing their status from a ‘Faithful’ to a ‘Traitor’. Contestants will be working together to beat challenges to earn more money.
Celebrity contestants will betray one another, keep secrets and plot to win £100,000 for their choice of charity in the BBC show.
Claudia Winkleman will host the nine-part series on BBC One and iPlayer.
The Irish actress Ruth Codd, known for The Dry, The Fall of the House of Usher and The Midnight Club, will be a contestant on the show, among comedians, singers, content creators, and even an Olympian will participate in the series.
The contestants of the Celebrity Traitors are:
