Simon Cowell has apologised to both Andrea Faustini and Laruen Platt following his criticism at the weekend.
The music mogul seemed to be in a bit of a strange mood on Saturday night, calling Lauren’s performance “boring” and commenting on Andrea’s “terrible” facial expressions.
Simon told Lauren that her performance was boring on Saturday night.
According to The Sun newspaper, he has since revealed that he wasn’t in the best of moods and his criticism wasn’t warranted.
“I had a bad night,” the father-of-one explained. “I had a really bad headache. I was feeling grumpy. I want to apologise to Andrea and Lauren because I wasn’t being fair.”
Favourite Andrea also received some criticism from the music mogul.
Simon also admitted that he isn’t sure which way the competition is going to go this year because of the high standard of contestants.
“I think the talent’s been great. It’s not like last year when it was a one-horse race – everyone knew Sam Bailey was going to win. This year there are five or six people left who could arguably win.”
