“Huge Twists, Shock Returns” – EastEnders Unveil Explosive September Storylines

EastEnders bosses have revealed details of a number of upcoming storylines which will (literally) set the square on fire. They have confirmed that Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) will resort to arson as a solution to his financial difficulties. However, after starting the fire at his family home, he discovers that the house isn’t as empty as he first thought. When he rushes back home, an explosion rips through the house leaving Alfie no choice but to take matters into his own hands. Alfie Moon is going to take drastic action to fix his problems (image via the BBC website). The Mitchells will also be in the spotlight with Phil’s wedding to Sharon Rickman (Letitia Dean). When Phil (Steve McFadden) discovers that his future wife is going to betray him, he seeks revenge with the help of his ex Shirley Carter (Linda Henry). As well as leading to “casualties”, this storyline will also see the return of Phil’s son Ben (Harry Reid) and Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack). Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “Bombs that we have been carefully planting over the last few months are about to explode all over the Square as some of our most iconic characters’ lives change forever. “With huge twists, shock returns and stories which will move, provoke and entertain, this September is going to be classic EastEnders and an unforgettable start to our autumn.”
