Last week, the TV personality announced she was stepping down from her presenting role on This Morning.
Holly Willoughby, 42, has allegedly told those closest to her that she plans to make her TV comeback early next year.
The presenter confirmed last week she would no longer be working on This Morning following an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her.
However, it seems she is ‘still part of the ITV family’ as she hopes to resume her role as presenter of Dancing on Ice in January 2024, which is also in the process of replacing Willoughby’s former co-host, Philip Schofield, 61.
Sources told the Mirror that she is keen to host the skating show when it returns in the winter, despite recent events.
An ITV insider also told the outlet that Stephen Mulhern is tipped to step into Schofield’s place once the show returns, following revelations of an affair the former This Morning host had with a younger colleague.
“Holly has told pals she wants to do Dancing on Ice. In spite of her decision to walk away from This Morning, she’s still part of the ITV family and loves the show. The last few weeks have been really difficult for her, and her team have avoided any formal discussions about work because she has been through so much lately.
“While Holly has understandably struggled with recent events, she is trying her best –with the help of family and friends – to look forward and to be positive. Holly is a much-loved part of the Dancing on Ice team. We would, of course, be thrilled to have her hosting the show in January, if she feels the time is right.””
Willoughby made the decision to leave This Morning in the wake of the alleged kidnapping ordeal and took to Instagram last week to share the news.
“I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show, thank you so much.” She added: “This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.
“I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much.”
