After the relative horrors of last week’s show, this Friday’s Late Late Show is shaping up to be a very good one…
Hollywood hotties Michael Fassbender and Domhnall Glesson will appear with director Lenny Abrahamson talk about their new film Frank. Fassbender and Abrahamson’s first project together was a thirty-second advertisement for Mastercard which made 15 years ago. In the advert a young Fassbender is seen wandering around Temple Bar. The chat with Ryan will mark the first time the advertisement has been broadcast since 1999. The interview is pre-recorded, however, so hanging about the gates of RTÉ won’t improve your chances with Fassbender. Sigh.
Tom Meagher, Jill Meagher’s husband gives his first Irish broadcast interview and talks about the his wife’s murder and the “chilling” moment when his wife’s killer first spoke in court. Tom has just been announced as a National Advocate for the White Ribbon Campaign in Ireland, which seeks to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate men’s violence against women, by engaging boys and men to lead social change. A heart-breaking essay Tom released last weekend to mark his new role tackled this topic in a poignant and hard-hitting manner.
Former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton will talk about motherhood and her newborn son’s recovery from viral meningitis, while Tom Dunne and his Something Happens bandmates will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a special performance.
Scottish singing superstar Paolo Nutini, (rumoured to be Irish presenter Laura Whitmore’s latest flame), completes the line-up.
This might actually be one worth staying in for…
