Game of Thrones actor on the ‘unexpected’ ending to the final season

Keeley Ryan

He says it’s going to be really unexpected.

There’s still months to go until Game of Thrones’ final season premieres.

And with the plot details being kept (mostly) under wraps, this just means that there’s loads of time for fans to try and guess what’s going to happen.

However, according to one of the actors, the ending of the series is very, very far from what fans are theorising.

Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry on the HBO hit, recently teased the unpredictable and “satisfying” end to season 8.

He continued to Metro.co.uk:

“I’ve not envied [showrunners] David Benioff and Dan Weiss the task of having to find a way to bring this phenomenon to a conclusion that is both satisfying for the majority of the fans but also unpredictable.

“I’m sure David and Dan don’t pay too much attention to people’s theories and speculation there is all over the internet, but it would be a bit of an anti-climax if a well popularised theory turned out to be the way it ended.

“There’s many pitfalls and I think they really have achieved that with this.

“It’s an ending I don’t think many people will be expecting and I think, on reflection, people will really, really enjoy.

“That’s if I know the ending at all.”

Game of Thrones is due to begin its final run of episodes in 2019.
