Emmerdale star Duncan Preston will be returning to the soap this September after three years away.
Show bosses revealed that the actor will be reprising his role as Doug Potts, the father of Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).
His return stems from his daughter’s wedding to Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) however his presence will also be felt by Diane (Elisabeth Estensen).
Speaking about his comeback, Duncan said: “It is lovely to be back in Yorkshire as part of the Emmerdale family. It feels like I have come home and I’m really excited about what is ahead for Doug”.
Duncan Preston will be returning to the soap as Doug Potts this September.
