The competition is fierce this year!

This Sunday (January 7th), Dancing With The Stars will return to our screens with 11 new famous names battling it out for the Glitterball Trophy.

With the full lineup and pairings for this year’s season revealed, bookmakers have already been predicting who they think will be crowned the 2024 winners.

Ahead of the opening live show, BoyleSports has revealed that Wild Youth frontman David Whelan has been backed into joint-favourites at odds of 3/1 alongside RTÉ’s Laura Fox.

The singer, who has been paired with Georgian dancer Salome Chachua, has seen his odds at the bookmakers slashed from 5/1 to 3/1, according to the bookmakers.

Meanwhile, Laura, who has been paired to dance with two-time 10 Dance World Champion Denys Samson, has long been the bookie’s favourite to make it to the end with odds of 3/1.

Speaking on the predicted frontrunners, Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, says David’s rise in odds is recent.

“Wild Youth star David Whelan has been the punters’ pick in recent days for this year’s show,” Brian advises.

“He is now hot on the heels of long-term favourite Laura, as she bids to Fox-Trot her way to victory and lift that Glitterball trophy.”

TikTok sensation Miriam Mullins is also high on the list to take the Glitterball Trophy this year with her partner, Montel Hewson, with odds of 4/1.

Following the social media star in odds are Irish Paralympic sprinter, Jason Smyth and his dance partner Karen Byrne at 5/1, TV personality Blu Hydrangea, and Italian dancer and choreographer Simone Arena at 6/1.

‘Six O’Clock Show’ host Katja Mia, Fair City’s Rory Cowan, and former Miss World Rosanna Davidson, and their respective partners, are all tied at 7/1 to go all the way in the competition.

Boyle Sports odds for Gold Cup and Grand National winning jockey Davy Russell to win the trophy are at 8/1, followed by Fair City star Shane Quigley Murphy at 9/1.

Former journalist, newsreader, and presenter, Eileen Dunne, and her dance partner, two-time Polish champion, Robert Rowiński, come in 25/1 to win Dancing With The Stars this year.
