Bosses at Coronation Street have revealed this week how they will bid farewell to the character of Deirdre Barlow in what is set to be an extremely emotional episode.
According to The Sun the heartbreaking scenes will see Deirdre’s family and friends prepare a party to welcome her back to Weatherfield.
However, Bev breaks the news to everyone that Deirdre has died after a suspected brain aneurysm.
It will be revealed that Deirdre died “peacefully” in her garden as she packed her bags to return to the cobbles.
Bev will then present Deirdre’s wedding ring to her husband Ken (Bill Roache) in another extremely emotional gesture.
According to reports, the scenes, which were filmed earlier this week, left a large number of the cast and crew in tears.
The episode will air later this summer.
