Coronation Street’s Anne Kirkbride Nominated For British Soap Award

EastEnders topped the pile with 14 nominations.

Coronation Street legend Anne Kirkbride has been nominated for a British Soap Award it was revealed this week.

The show favourite, who passed away in January, starred in the long-running soap for 44 years.

She has been nominated for the Scene of the Year category for the episode where her character Deirdre threw a trifle at a wall.

Other scenes in the running for the award include Kathy’s homecoming in EastEnders, the dance episode in Doctors, the train crash in Hollyoaks and Donna’s farewell in Emmerdale.

Meanwhile EastEnders has topped the pile for the most nominations, with the popular soap in the running for 14 different awards.

The awards take place in Manchester on May 16th.
