It is said that it was a "mutual decision."

Michael Le Vell might only have returned to the cobbles following his court case, during which he was cleared of all charges against him, but it seems he will be taking another break.

The actor, who plays Kevin Webster on the soap, is reportedly taking some time out to deal with his personal issues.

The news comes only a matter of days after Le Vell admitted that he took cocaine in the lead-up to his trial and when he was cleared.

A spokesperson explained: “Coronation Street and Michael Le Vell have mutually agreed that he will take a break from the programme whilst he seeks professional help for personal issues.”

The 49-year-old, who started filming again for the show almost two months ago, will appear on the small screen from the end of March for about six weeks.

Over the weekend it was reported that Le Vell had admitted to taking drugs. According to The Sunday Mirror, he said: “The first time I ever did cocaine was in the lead up to my trial.”

He then added: “Now I’m so ashamed of what I did. I never thought that I was the sort of bloke who would like cocaine. But it was moments of weakness when I was at the lowest ebb of my life.”
