Over the past year it seems half of young Hollywood has been linked to the movie adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, but finally the first of the leads has been confirmed.
Dakota Johnson has been cast as Anastasia Steele in the film version of the bestselling erotic novels.
The news was confirmed in a tweet from series author E L James earlier today.
Johnson, 23, is best known for her role on sitcom Ben & Kate, along with minor roles in The Five-Year Engagement and The Social Network.

Johnson’s acting skills have pedigree though, as the young star is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.
As of yet, the male lead in the movie has not been announced, so it remains to be seen who will play the Christian Grey to Johnson’s Steele.
