Bridgerton fans have been treated to a pretty major update this afternoon and it's safe to say everyone is freaking out a little.
The team behind the hit Netflix series has confirmed that season four of the show will focus on Benedict Bridgerton's love story.
Yes, the best of the Bridgerton brothers (in my opinion) takes centre stage in season four and we're just a little bit too excited about it.
This afternoon, Netflix and Shondaland announced that season four will focus on the love story of Benedict Bridgerton.
Benedict is played by Luke Thompson, who has been part of the show since it first aired in 2020.
Netflix stated: "The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson).
"Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down -- until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball."
Season four of Bridgerton will feature eight episodes and filming is due to take place in London.
Showrunner Jess Brownell will also return for season four.
Executive producers will include Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.
Season four will reportedly be based on the Julia Quinn book An Offer From a Gentleman.
The synopsis reads:
Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother, but now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.
Will we finally see Benedict Bridgerton get his happy ending?
We may have some time to wait but fans are already claiming this will be one of the most exciting seasons of Bridgerton to date.
