Fans of Rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock, rejoice – Sheldon, Leonard and co. aren’t going away anytime soon.
Hit CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory has been extended for a further three seasons.
The ratings-maker, starring Jim Parsons, Johnny Galeki and Kaley Cuoco, will now air until at least 2017.
The announcement is notable as the traditional renewal process sees shows extended on a season-by-season basis, so this move shows huge faith by broadcasters in the geeky comedy.
“The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television,” said CBS entertainment head Nina Tassler.
Parsons, who plays genius Dr. Sheldon Cooper, has won three Emmy Awards for the role.
The show, created by Two and a Half Men‘s Chuck Lorre, is currently on air in its seventh season.
