Double the Love Island, double the fun.
Unless you’ve managed to completely avoid the press and social media for the past few weeks (fair play, honestly), you’ll have seen that we’re in for two helpings of our favourite reality show in 2020.
ITV2 will be airing a winter Love Island in January, it confirmed last month.
The series will come to us from Cape Town, South Africa and will run for eight weeks, the station has confirmed.
We don’t know much else apart from that – but it’s been revealed that casting for it has already begun.
A man told The Sun that he’d been approached by a show scout at a pool party in Spain.
An email he was shown by the ITV2 rep revealed that they’re looking for a few specific types.
“I was asked if I was single and they showed me credentials from ITV2,” he said.
“I was a bit nervous about giving my name so they then showed me an email where they’d been asked to find ‘types’.
“On there, it listed twins, goth girls, and Essex lads.”
An eclectic mix, for sure.
The official casting call says that ITV2 is looking for “vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the winter sun, in search of love.
“The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.”
