Warner Bros Pictures has revealed that Ben Affleck is going to be the new Batman. Yes you read that right, Ben Affleck is the new Batman.
The Oscar-winning director will be playing Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne in an upcoming Superman sequel, directed by Zack Snyder, which will see the two superheroes face up against each other.
Ben Affleck has been revealed as the new Batman.
Greg Silverman, president of creative development at Warner Bros pictures said “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular superheroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some.”
He added: “His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack (Snyder) will bring a new dimension to the duality of this character.”
The Argo star will be joining Henry Cavill for the film due out in 2015.
Ben certainly has big shoes to fill after Christian Bale played the caped crusader in Christopher Nolan’s incredible trilogy.
But we’ve no doubt the 41-year-old, whose most recent credits include Argo and The Town, will rise to the challenge and make it a blockbuster to remember… well either that, or it will go on that other Ben Affleck list which includes Gigli.
