People finally identify mystery family member at Kate Middleton’s carol concert

The unknown individual now has a name.

The scarf-wearing individual - dubbed the 'Clark Kent' of the Royal Family by people on social media - was front and centre of the festive event, situated a row behind the Princess of Wales, Prince William and their three children - George, Louis and Charlotte.

While 1600 guests were in attendance, the positioning of the gentleman made him appear as someone of the utmost important.

The discourse around the event seemed to focus mostly on who this man was, leading to swathes of internet sleuths scrambling to determine his identity.

Considering the chap looked similar to every other Englishman in his mid-30s (except for his expensive-looking scarf and designer glasses) it can't have been an easy task to suss out his name.

Luckily, some relentless investigators have successfully got to the bottom of the mystery, and have identified the man as George Gilman - the husband of Lady Rose Gilman.

Lady Rose is the youngest daughter of Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, who himself was cousins with the late Queen Elizabeth II, and grandson to King George V, and Birgitte van Deurs Henriksen.

She has attended several royal events - including King Charle's 2023 Coronation - though she and her husband George live a relatively normal life.

Well, normal-ish. Lady Rose has taken on several film roles in her career, including in two Harry Potter movies, and worked behind the scenes for the art department of UK sketch series, Little Britain.

George, meanwhile, who wed Lady Rose in Queen's Chapel, St James Palace, in 2008, works as director of asset management for Resolution Property.

The couple are parents to Lyla, 14, and Rufus, 12.
