Tommy Fury vs KSI result officially changed following scorecards error

After the scorecards were posted online, people were quick to point out an inconsistency.

Tommy Fury’s triumph over KSI (Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji) on Saturday night (October 14th) has been corrected to a unanimous decision, not a majority decision.

The former Love Island contestant took on and beat the YouTube personality in Manchester at the AO Arena by a majority decision.

However, after pictures of the cards were released, it was soon spotted that one judge had not added up their scores correctly, with the cards reading that the two had drawn.

The error, whereby the judge who labelled the match a 57-57 draw, has now been amended to 57-56 in favour of Fury, the score the other two judges ruled the fight to be.

Regardless of whether the final decision was spilt or majority, KSI felt unjustified that he was not named victor and said he felt it was a ‘robbery’.

“How many jabs did he land? You didn’t get hardly any shots off. You weren’t landing! Look at your face; look at your eyes. Look at you! I’m the YouTuber; you’re the boxer; you have to win. I understand. It’s all good,” KSI said directly to Fury after the fight.

“[I won rounds] 1, 2, 3, and a point off. How do I lose a six rounder? Unreal. He’s the man that’s meant to be a pro boxer and he won a majority decision. It’s outrageous.”

KSI won the first and second rounds; the second saw a point taken from Fury for punching his 30-year-old challenger on the back of the head.

The judges, however, ruled Fury the winner in the remaining four rounds.

“Was it my best performance? No absolutely not, but we knew it was going to be a stink fest, because one man didn’t want to come to fight,” Fury admitted to IFL TV afterwards.

“Where I come from in the gyms and stuff, you stand there and have a fight. This guy was hopping up and down the ring and didn’t want to engage, it was a scrappy affair.

“That was a horrible fight, I’ve not even watched it back and I’m not even sure I’m going to want to watch it back, because I was useless in there, but I still got the win.”

Meanwhile, Fury’s fiancee, Molly-Mae Hague, whom he shares one child with, has expressed only pride for her partner following his victory.

Molly has been vocal in the past about the stress and anxiety she experiences watching her husband-to-be in the ring, however, she has never fails to support him in his boxing endeavours.

“No one is prouder of you than me,” the former PLT Creative director wrote afterwards.
