A deserved triumph, tbh.
Timothée Chalamet has been named as GQ’s best dressed man in the world.
The Call Me By Your Name actor emerged victorious today as the publication decided that his unabashed red carpet risks and eye for designer detail were enough to earn him the top spot.
He successful beat the likes of Brad Pratt, Skepta, and Lil Nas X thanks to his penchant for originality – all the while looking extremely, extremely cool.
“Plenty of actors decide to take risks on the red carpet, and for that we applaud them, but so often it backfires,” said British GQ.
“Not so with Timothée Chalamet, who wears the trickiest of designer ensembles but manages to look as cool and comfortable as if he were wearing regular black tie.”
“A lot of this is to do with his androgynous, skinny physique and startlingly pretty face.”
Chalamet, who is best known for his roles in the aforementioned Luca Guadagnino film as well as Ladybird and Beautiful Boy, said recently that he doesn’t have a stylist and that he wouldn’t want to “pay someone to figure out what I should be wearing.”
“I hear about celebrities who have stylists, and that blows my mind,” he told Time Out. “It’s certainly not why I act, but I can wear cool clothes from some of the nicest designers in the world.”
Second on GQ’s list of best dressed men was Brad Pitt, who the publication hailed as showing (through his role in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood “… how an American icon should dress: T-shirt and jeans, cowboy boots, aviator sunglasses, baseball caps and Hawaiian shirts”
“It’s at once rugged and masculine, but also friendly and approachable, all slung on with that characteristic nonchalance and ease.
“Therein lies the magic and charm of Brad Pitt, both on the red carpet and off it: the golden boy from a golden era, the likes of which we may never see again.”
