Taylor Swift decided to party it up in Belfast instead of attending the prestigious Video Music Awards last night.
Notably absent from last night’s Video Music Awards was pop sensation Taylor Swift. As it turns out, she had a perfectly valid excuse – the singer was living it up in Ireland.
According to numerous reports, Tay Tay has joined her boyfriend actor Joe Alwyn in Belfast as he films the TV adaption of Sally Rooney’s novel Conversations with Friends.
The English actor will play Nick in the upcoming Hulu series. Other actors billed for the project include Girls’ Jemima Kirke and American Honey’s Sasha Lane.
Alwyn and Taylor have been in a relationship since 2016. He also co-produced a number of songs on her 2020 album Folklore, which subsequently won Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Over on Twitter, die-hard Swifties went into a frenzy as other fans shared selfies they took with the singer during her sejourn in Northern Ireland.
The singer kindly posed with a number of fans as well as staff at the party, and many Belfast fans couldn’t deal with the idea of the singer in their town.

Earlier this summer, online sleuths were convinced Taylor was holidaying in Ireland after spotting a Donegal beach in her Instagram snaps.
In the background, many could recognise the stunning Ballymastocker Bay in Portsalon.
