Soap Star Kelly-Marie Stewart Overcomes Paralysis to Walk Down the Aisle

Former soap star Kelly-Marie Stewart has shared a link to her wedding video on Twitter. The actress, who played Hayley Ramsey in Hollyoaks, married her other half James Lovelady in front of close friends and family earlier this month. It was an especially momentous occasion considering that Kelly walked down the aisle having been paralysed from the waist down since the age of 21. Kelly-Marie Stewart pictured in 2009. However she managed to overcome the effects of Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a condition which sees the immune system attack parts of the peripheral nervous system, for her big day. Speaking about it, she told the Liverpool Echo: “I got emotional walking with my dad. I wanted to surprise him as well as James. "They knew I had intentions of walking but they didn’t push me in case I couldn’t… I was sobbing the day after because I was so happy but I didn’t want to do it again because it couldn’t have been more perfect.” https://vimeo.com/138595183
