Irish singer, and somewhat controversial celebrity Sinead O’Connor, has revealed to fans on Facebook that she intends to have a hysterectomy this Wednesday.
The 48-year old shared a status update confirming her plans for treatment, writing:
The mum of four received words of advice, encouragement and support from followers, who gave the singer some tips for overcoming some of the side effects of the procedure.
The singer was praised for her open and honest approach to having a hysterectomy, with fans defending the singer against critics who accused her of over-sharing:
Sinead has previously used her Facebook profile to highlight issues of depression and mental health.
She also recently cancelled the rest of her summer concerts due to suffering from exhaustion.
