Shailene Woodley has been arrested during protest

The Fault in Our Stars actress was arrested for trespassing.

Shailene Woodley was peacefully protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline on Monday when she was arrested for trespassing according to E! News. The controversial Dakota Access Pipeline Project aims to build a pipeline which will enable domestically produced light sweet crude oil from North Dakota to reach refining markets. However, the #NoDAPL movement was created by people who are against this construction as they argue that the land it is being built on is sacred to the Sioux people of Standing rock reservation. Early on Monday Shailene began posting on social media about her plans to protest and the used Facebook Live to document the day. At one point towards the end of her filming she says:

"I don't know if you guys just heard me, but I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue," "They had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they're not letting me go."

When the actress asks the cop a question he says:

 "We can't talk right here, but you're going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing."

The cop then explains that she is being arrested because she has been identified.

 "Alright I'm being arrested, because I was trespassing like everyone. "It's because I'm well known. It's because I have 40,000 people watching." She said.
