PIC: Screech and Slater have reunited for a TV special

Screech and Slater back together again.  Saved by the Bell fans will probably be familiar with what Dustin Diamond has got up since leaving the popular show. While most of the other cast members have gone on to act and have very successful careers, he went on to have a sex tape and wound up in jail for a brawl in a bar, among other interesting ventures along the way. But now, after serving a few months in prison for the incident he has given his first TV interview since his release and he chose ex-co-star Mario Lopez to chat to. The interview which is due to air on Extra TV in the States will see Dustin opening up about his time in jail, giving details about that sex tape and explaining about his 2009 tell-all book about Saved By The Bell. Just look how much Dustin has changed since his time on the show.

Speaking about his time in jail he tells Mario, "It’s pretty daunting, it’s pretty scary going into that environment. I found that as long as you follow the rules and stay with the system, it works. You can get in and out unscathed.” Extra TV has released a teaser of what's to expect from the upcoming TV special. Also during the interview, Dustin tells Mario about the tell-all book saying, "I wanted to write a book about my life… I was supposed to talk to a ghostwriter for 40 hours total. I talked to a guy for 90 minutes total… another two weeks go by, and I get something in the mail, I get a copy of the book… They fabricated a whole bunch of stuff… I kind of super-railroaded on that." Commenting on the book Mario said, "The book didn’t exactly paint a flattering picture of your fellow castmates," and Dustin agreed saying, “Imagine how I feel, I haven’t talked to Marc Paul or Elizabeth or Tiffani in ages, so I can’t imagine what they think, and I’m hoping this will clear it up. It wasn’t me, I didn’t write this. I was just as shocked and appalled.” He added that it's time for change for him saying, "I want to put the tomfoolery and malarkey behind me… for that clean slate. Time for a change.”
