Sandra Bullock honoured her late partner Bryan Randall’s final wish
On Saturday, what would have been Bryn’s 58th birthday, the actress released his remains in Jackson Hole’s Snake River.
In a post made by her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado, shared a video of the peaceful, snow-covered area the late photographer wanted to be his final resting place.
Gesine captioned the video, “Happy birthday, Bry. Sandy brought you to the river, just as she promised.”
Bryn died in August of last year following a private three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
ALS, also known as Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.
As of now, there is no known cure and no effective treatment option to reverse its effects.
At the time of the photographer’s death, his family issued a statement to People Magazine confirming the news of his passing.
It read, “It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS.
“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”
The family continued, “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.
“At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”
Sandra and Bryan first met in 2015 when he photographed her son Louis’s birthday party.
Later that same year in October, the pair went public with their relationship while attending the premiere of Our Brand Is Crisis.
