Ryan Tubridy makes a rare red carpet appearance at The Crown premiere

Ryan looked rather dapper in his classic three-piece suit complete with a dark green tie in a possible nod to Ireland.

The 50-year-old was clearly loving the glamour of it all as he shared a number of snaps and videos on Instagram from his big night out.

Joking about his twist on the dress code for the event in one clip, Ryan said, "The Southbank in London – Christmassy, The Eye and an invitation to the screening of The Crown season finale.

"It said black tie… it’s green. You have to have a twist in the tale, you know."

He also shared a glimpse inside the theatre, adding: "This is the screen we're going to see it on and as a bonus treat, we're going to have a live orchestra playing the theme tune.

"And it's only an hour. Bonus." Though Ryan has gone public with his new relationship with Dr Clare Kambamettu, he attended the premiere solo.

The father of two seems to be adjusting to his new life over in the UK pretty well before he starts his new radio gig.

Ryan will be presenting a morning show on Virgin Radio from January 4th, which will also be broadcast in Ireland on Dublin’s Q102.

Speaking about his new job, Ryan said: "I couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter. New city, new stations, new beginnings.

"I love radio and what a joy to be back. It’s been a pleasure getting to know my new friends at Virgin Radio, all of whom have been warm, engaging and very entertaining."
