RTÉ Newsreader To Tie The Knot Next Year

RTÉ newsreader Aengus MacGrianna is set to walk down the aisle next summer.

According to reports his partner of 10 years, Terry Gill, popped the question a few weeks ago.

Aengus has been with his partner for almost 10 years.

The 49-year-old star, who is taking part in the new series of Celebrity Masterchef, told the Irish Mirror about the proposal: “I had been away for a couple of days and when I came home it was a gorgeous evening.

“Terry had dinner ready so we went out and had it on the deck and when the meal was finished he asked me to marry him.”

The couple are now planning to wed in London or New York but will also have a ceremony in Dublin.

The newsreader is taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Masterchef. 

Aengus explained: “All we know is we will get married in June or July of next year. We will have some kind of ceremony in Dublin and a big party but we will probably do the legal side in the UK or New York.

“We want to be married from the start rather than have a civil partnership as we figured why wait and the referendum here will be taking place too late for us.”
