Is it ever OK to break up with someone over social media?

Well, it appears as if some do, especially if the latest report about Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus is to be believed. According to Page Six, when the heartbreaking news emerged that after 10 years of dating and less than a year of marriage, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were parting ways, the news "blindsided" Liam as well as startling the public. Now, it's fair to say he knew things were over but, it's being reported that he didn't know they were making a public announcement until Miley's rep posted this statement:

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers."

Apparently, Liam was in Australia when the news broke on social media and although another report claims he knew it was coming, neither of them deny that he found out via social media... hmmm. Miley then took to Instagram to make a public announcement. She stated that the split had "no secrets to uncover". Continuing she said:

"I had to make healthy decisions for myself to leave a previous life behind."

Liam then filed for divorce on August 21 stating "irreconcilable differences" in the court documents. Who knows what's to believe and what's not to believe all we can hope is that these two are now better off apart.
