Rebel Wilson’s Pitch Perfect contract prevented her from gaining or losing more than 10 pounds

“You have to kind of stay at the weight. It’s in your contract.”

Rebel Wilson has shared that her contract for the film Pitch Perfect prevented her from losing or gaining more than 10 pounds during filming.

The Australian actress played the role of ‘Fat Amy’ in the three films, and she recently discussed her contractual obligations during a recent podcast interview.

On Call Her Daddy, Rebel said: “I couldn’t lose a massive amount of weight because I was in the contracts for that movie.

“You can’t lose, I think it’s not more than 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms), or gain more than 10 pounds. You have to kind of stay at the weight. It’s in your contract.”

Rebel explained that this was challenging for her, as she wanted to lose weight after a fertility doctor told her she would have a “better chance” at conceiving at a lower weight.

Last year, Rebel and her partner Ramona Agruma welcomed their first child via surrogacy. They named her Royce Lillian.

Earlier this week, on the Life Uncut podcast, Rebel discussed the first time she was ‘mum-shamed’ shortly after Royce’s birth.

“I think it was only a week until I got mum-shamed,” she said.

Rebel also pointed to the double standard, and said that famous dads are not treated with the same level of scrutiny.

“I was shocked at the criticism because Chris Hemsworth goes to the gym, and people aren’t yelling, ‘Where’s your kids?’

“But why do they do it to every woman?”

Rebel then reflected on motherhood, and how it’s important for mothers to not lose sight of their own identity.

“Just because you become a mother, doesn’t mean that you lose your identity as a person,” she said. “It doesn’t mean you can’t go out with friends, or you can’t go on a holiday. It doesn’t mean you can’t have a career.”
