The family hoped to raise their children in both England and America, but the dad-of-two fears it is not safe for Meghan Markle to return to England.
The former actress faced waves of abuse during her time in England, especially during her pregnancy and after they confirmed they were stepping down.
Harry has often spoken out about how unsafe England feels, particularly for Meghan.
Their security status was lowered when they stood down.
However, Prince Harry believes they should still have full protection.
The Home Office stopped supplying personal police security for Harry and his family but said he could fund it himself.
Harry has often challenged the decision by the Home Office.
Harry opened up about the danger of returning to his home country in an interview with ITV’s Rebecca Barry.
"It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read.
"And whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me," he added.
"It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."
Meghan Markle did return to the UK with Prince Harry for Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022.
