The out pouring of support from friends of the LGBT community has been incredible in the past 72 hours.
Around the world tributes poured in and vigils were held in countless cities.
Trending hashtags like #GaysBreakTheInternet and #LoveWins saw LGBT people increase visibility and showed an incredible amount of courage.
Many people revealed their sexualities publicly for the first time.
Child star Mara Wilson joined the cohort of LGBT people who felt the need to share their personal story.
In a series of Tweets the Matilda star revealed that the first time she visited a gay club she was 18. And while at the time she didn’t feel like she belonged at the time, she revealed that later in life she returned to gay clubs and discovered something about herself.
