Michelle Dockery is expecting her first child

The actress confirmed the joyous news at the premiere for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in Leicester Square, London.

Dockery looked beautiful in a strapless blue Prada gown as she walked down the red carpet with her co-stars.

Dockery is expecting her first child with her husband Jasper Waller-Bridge.

The film producer is the brother of Fleabag actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

It was an emotional night for the Downton Abbey cast as they prepared to bid farewell to the beloved franchise.

Michelle Dockery rose to fame as Lady Mary Crawley when the show first aired in 2010.

Speaking about saying farewell to Lady Mary Crawley and the period drama, Dockery told Vanity Fair:

"I feel really grateful for being part of something so loved by so many people," the actress said.

"It’s quite rare in an actor’s career to keep going back to the same job for 15 years, and have the familiarity of being back together with the cast every couple of years. It’s certainly emotional to say goodbye to that."

As heartbroken as the cast are to say goodbye, they believe it is the right time.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale lands in cinemas on September 12th.
